1981 Herreshoff Cat Ketch 31

Rockland, Maine

$25,000

The Herreshoff 31 Cat Ketch, designed by Halsey Herreshoff, is an attractive traditional-looking vessel above the waterline.  Below the waterline, she has a shoal fin keel and a transom-hung rudder attached to a skeg.  She has a cat-ketch rig with loose-footed sails, both of which can be reefed, with reefing lines led to the cockpit.  She's simple to sail.  She's self-tacking and needs no sheet winches.  Her attractive interior, finished with varnished fir and pine, is warm and cozy feeling and features standing headroom and accommodations for five.  A new Yanmar engine and transmission with fewer than 5 hours should provide reliable power for many years.
