The Bob Perry-designed Lafitte 44 is a serious ocean-going, long-distance cruiser.  56 were built between 1978 and 1989.  DREAM WEAVER is hull #55 of 56 built.  She has had only two owners, her current owner having purchased her in 2017.  He has since spent over $300,000 on improvements and upgrades.  A change in plans now brings her to market. She is in Marion, MA on on the hard and may be easily seen.

Accommodations

Sleeps 7-8.  V berth forward.  Enclosed head with vanity and shower next aft to port, hanging lockers opposite to starboard. Main cabin features U-shaped dinette to port which converts to form double berth, settee opposite to starboard. Galley next aft to port, forward-facing navigator's station opposite to starboard. Aft owner's stateroom with double berth to port and single berth to starboard is accessible from main cabin through a second head, with vanity and shower, located aft of navigator's station. Both toilets are Wilcox Crittenden Skipper models, both rebuilt in 2019. Shower fixtures new in 2019.

Galley

U-shaped galley features propane four-burner, gimbaled, stainless steel stove with oven (oven  not working),  Sea Frost (2021) 12 volt refrigerated ice box and separate freezer with digital monitors and controls, double stainless steel sinks with pressurized hot/cold water. Propane system installed in 2019.

Electrical

12 volt DC and both 110 volt AC and 220 volts AC. Engine and generator starting batteries are 12 volt lead acid. House batteries consist of three Relion RB-300-hp 8D 300 ah lithium iron phosphate batteries (2019). Four deck-mounted semi-rigid, walk-on, 175 watt SolarWorld Sunmodule solar panels mounted on foredeck whose 700 watts of power produce as many as 250 ah per day! The four three-foot-square panels feed two 30 amp Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers, monitored via a Victron Color Control GX mounted at nav station. Eclectic Energy (British) D400 wind generator (2019) with max output of 600 watts. Nex-Gen 5.5 KW 10 HP diesel genset (2019) with 75.7 hours. 110 and 220 volt Victron Energy inverter/chargers (2019). Boat automatically accepts 110 volt or 220 shore power and can output both voltages simultaneously, if so desired.

Electronics and Navigation

Brooks and Gatehouse electronics suite including forward-facing sonar, AIS transceiver, 4G radar (antenna mounted on mast), three Triton2 multi function displays, 12" Zeus3 chartplotter, and barograph. All purchased new in 2019, all updated in 2021. Simrad hydraulic autopilot (2019) networked to B&G system, Icom M803 marine HF SSB radio transceiver (2019) with DSC and color display, Icom AT140 automatic antenna tuner (2019). Insulated backstay serves as SSB antenna. Copper foil ground plane glassed into hull during boat's manufacturing process (standard practice with all Lafitte 44's). Icom IC M-506 VHF radio transceiver (2019) with RAM mike (2019). Iridium wifi satcom system (2019). King wifiMax router and range extender (2019). Ritchie SP5 binnacle-mounted compass.

Modified full keel with skeg-hung rudder. External lead ballast. Airex-cored hull, balsa-cored decks. Teak decking. Double bow anchor rollers. Maxwell electric windlass, rebuilt in 2019 with foot switch and wireless remote control. Double stainless steel lifelines (2018) with starboard boarding gate. Edson steering system. Four opening overhead Bomar hatches. 10 opening ports. Two Marinco solar vents with reversible fans. Two midship deadlights (2019). Cockpit shower. Dyneema jacklines, port and starboard, running bow to stern. Three padeyes in cockpit for attaching safety harness tethers

Sails and Rigging

Cutter-rigged keel-stepped aluminum mast. Staysail stay fitted with quick-release lever at base allowing stay to be quickly deployed or stored. Running backstays. Sail inventory of 7 sails, all made by Port Townsend Sails in 2019, includes fully battened mainsail with two deep reefs (30% and 60%), light air loose-footed mainsail with snuffing sock, roller-furling 115% genoa, Dyneema-stayed drifter, particularly robust staysail, storm trysail with separate track on mast, and storm staysail. Block and tackle boom vang with Dyneema line, 22', 20 lb. carbon-fiber whisker pole (2018) with integrated stowing (flush with mast) nd deploying system. Harken mid-boom mainsheet traveller (2018) mounted on house. Winch inventory includes two Harken #35 two-speed, self-tailing, mast-mounted halyard winches, Lewmar #30 self-tailing, two-speed, mast-mounted, reefing winch, two Lewmar #55 self-tailing, two speed, primary genoa sheet winches, two Lewmar #40 self-tailing, two-speed winches mounted on coach roof, one Lewmar #46 self-tailing, two-speed winch mounted on coach roof. All standing rigging and turnbuckles new in 2018.  Most running rigging replaced in 2018 with Dyneema. All chainplates removed in 2018, dye tested, and electropolished. All chainplate attachment points reinforced in 2018 with additional glass.
